Hi, my name is Marcia and I want to welcome you to Little Pink Rose Quilting & Sewing. I live in the Washington DC area with my husband of 17 years. Our boys and I followed him here from Missouri where I had grown up a farmer's daughter and greatly loved the solitude of the farm. I'm now surrounded by more people and traffic than I've ever experienced before in my life, but despite all that, I love it here!
I spent 13 years homeschooling our boys. The oldest has begun Law School at Liberty University and is serving in the Virginia National Guard. The youngest has moved back home and is still figuring out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, but in the mean time is enjoying his delivery job with Domnios Pizza. Both are looking forward to the future, with anticipation and my hubby and I are greatly enjoying having adult children and being "almost" empty-nesters!!
My husband is a National Guard Chaplain and Pastor. He's been deployed overseas twice and greatly enjoys all that he's doing with the Guard. After 32 years with the National Guard he'll reach his mandatory retirement date next year, which he's looking forward to with happy anticipation. We are a part of planting a church as part of the Praetorian Project Network of churches around the world and prayerfully depending on the Lord for wisdom and direction in every decision.
I've been doing all sorts of sewing since I was a little girl. My first commissioned sewing project came while I was in high school. In the past my absolute favorite projects to work on were Formal and Bridal Wear, though the fabric is a pain the beauty of the finished dress was almost intoxicating. Today I've fallen in love with all aspects of the quilting process and love being able to spend as much time as possible in my studio piecing and quilting, especially free motion quilting. If you're looking for a quilter I'm available for everything from T-shirt quilts, making custom quilt, or free motion quilting your quilt tops. Most recently I've enjoyed teaching Beginners Free Motion Quilting Classes and teaching new quilters the tips and tricks to quilting their own quilts on their home sewing machines.
In Sept. 2012 I stepped into a new chapter of life and business and opened an online fabric shop, fulfilling a long time dream. I am greatly enjoying serving people through fabric and being able to help make your next project beautiful. You can visit the shop at: www.littlepinkrose.com
