Hi, my name is Marcia and I want to welcome you to Little Pink Rose Quilting & Sewing. I live in the Washington DC area with my husband of 19 years. Our boys and I followed him here from Missouri where I had grown up a farmer's daughter and greatly loved the solitude of the farm. I'm now surrounded by more people and traffic than I've ever experienced before in my life, but despite all that, I love it here!
I spent 13 years homeschooling our boys. The oldest is in Law School at Liberty University and is served in the Virginia National Guard. The youngest has left the nest and moved into his own apartement. He's still figuring out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, but in the mean time is enjoying his delivery job with Domnios Pizza. Both are looking forward to the future, with anticipation and my hubby and I are greatly enjoying having adult children and being empty-nesters!!
My husband recently retired Army National Guard Chaplain (Col) after 34 years of service. He was deployed overseas twice and greatly enjoyed all that he has done with the Guard. He's now a bi-vocational Pastor who also works part-time at Home Depot and is an online instructor with Liberty University.
I've been doing all sorts of sewing since I was a little girl. My first commissioned sewing project came while I was in high school. In the past my absolute favorite projects to work on were Formal and Bridal Wear, the fabric is a pain but the beauty of the finished dress was almost intoxicating. Today I've stepped away from alterations and clothing construction since falling in love with all aspects of the quilting process. I love being able to spend as much time as possible in my studio piecing and quilting, and especially free motion quilting. If you're looking for a quilter I'm available for everything from T-shirt quilts, making a custom quilt, or free motion quilting your quilt tops. Most recently I've enjoyed teaching Beginners Free Motion Quilting Classes and teaching new quilters the tips and tricks to quilting their own quilts on their home sewing machines.
In Sept. 2012 I stepped into a new chapter of life and business and opened an online fabric shop, fulfilling a long time dream. I am greatly enjoying serving people through fabric and being able to help make your next project beautiful. You can visit the shop at: www.littlepinkrose.com
